Isn't it strange that, when asked to name the most important political issue of our day, most Christians will give answers like, "the economy," or "national sercurity"? But what rights can you possibly enjoy, if you are denied the right to life?
On Monday, January 18th, we will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday and, on Sunday January 24th we celebrate National Right to Life Sunday. The two days are so closely related that I have decided to combine them in our worship service. MLK fought for the rights of every human being to be respected, because all men are created in the image of God. There is only one race... the human race. MLK fought for the rights of the downtrodden and of the helpless, but who is more helpless than the unborn child, living in the womb of a mother who does not want him/her?
"Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr... called her uncle "a man of great compassion, and a man of non-violence."
"He once said, 'The Negro cannot win as long as he is willing to sacrifice the lives of his children for comfort and safety,'" she added.
King said her uncle would understand that to include the destruction of unborn children.
"I know in my heart that if Uncle Martin were alive today, he would join with me in the greatest civil rights struggle of this generation - the recognition of the unborn child's basic right to life," she told LifeNews.com.
"My uncle Martin would agree that we cannot end poverty, hunger, or suffering by killing those who might suffer," she explained. "We cannot claim to guarantee equal rights if we deny the rights of the helpless. And we cannot feign ignorance of the fact that those who are torn apart, crushed, or left to die on an abortionist's table are just as human as we are."

Consider what God said to Jeremiah, "Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." (Jeremiah 1:4-5) God had a plan for Jeremiah's life before He even formed him in his mother's womb. He has a plan for every human before they are even conceived.
Consider from that simple fact what the liberals are doing to our society. The 50,000,000 children who have been destroyed in the USA alone were people for whom God had a plan. They were great preachers, inventors, musicians, medical researchers, industrialists, scientists, factory workers, farmers, cab drivers and taxpayers. Our society has been denied the wonderful advances and contributions that these unborn children would have given us. Even the liberals' wicked Social Security Ponzi scheme would be solvent today, if those children had been allowed to live and pay into it!
Every person who votes for an abortion supporting politician will have to answer to God one day for his/her sin. "Don't fail to rescue those who are doomed to die. Don't say, "I didn't know it!" God can read your mind. He watches each of us and knows our thoughts. And God will pay us back for what we do." (Proverbs 24:11-12 CEV)
